speakers at conferences, shows, etc.
a tip for selling to businesses
Conferences, tradeshows, and other events often attract top industry executives as keynote speakers or session presenters. Identify the associations that serve your customers (see tip #36), and visit their websites for information on annual meetings and other conferences. Check trade show websites (see tip #25) for upcoming events, and visit the event websites to find a list of speakers and presenters. You’ll likely find names, titles and a brief biography for each speaker. Then, visit the speaker’s company website for contact information, or attend the event and make contact.
Industry events also provide an excellent opportunity to put a name with a title. Go to any search engine (Google, Yahoo!, MSN, etc.) and type in the company name and the title or job function for the person you want to identify. The search results will likely include conferences and trade show marketing materials, and media coverage of those events, which should provide the name you want. You may also find industry-related news articles (see tip #52).
